Contest Rules

  1. No purchase is necessary to enter.
  2. One entry only per contestant.
  3. Entries must be received through the entry portal on hearwellbewell.ca/soundandart.
  4. Entries for the artists’ portion of the contest must be received by April 30, 2023. Hear Well Be Well takes no responsibility for lost, misplaced or stolen entries.
  5. Entries for the public portion of the contest must be received by May 31, 2023. Hear Well Be Well takes no responsibility for lost, misplaced or stolen entries.
  6. Entries must include either a video submission or written submission to be eligible to win. Any incomplete entries will be disqualified.
  7. Prizes include:
    1. Two (2) Grand Prizes for Artists of $500 plus hearing test plus hearing aids if needed. If hearing aids are required, grand prize could be worth up to $9,000 each.
    1. Two secondary prizes for Artists of $250 plus hearing test.
    1. Two (2) Grand Prizes for members of the public of $500 plus hearing test plus hearing aids if needed. If hearing aids are required, grand prize could be worth up to $9,000 each.
    1. Two secondary prizes for members of the public of $250 plus hearing test.
  8. Winners must be over 19 years of age.
  9. Winners must be resident of Ontario.
  10. Winners must be able to attend one of the Hear Well Be Well locations, in person, to collect their prize and for hearing assessment.
  11. Winners will be drawn by random draw.
  12. Winners of artists’ portion of the contest will be drawn on May 1 and they will be notified by email or phone by May 5. Winners will have five business days to reply to notification. In the event, we don’t hear back from the winners in this time frame, a new winner will be selected.
  13. Winner of public portion of the contest will be drawn on June 1 and they will be notified by email or phone by June 6. Winners will have five business days to reply to notification. In the event, we don’t hear back from the winners in this time frame, a new winner will be selected.
  14. A skill-testing question must be answered as part of winning.
  15. The free hearing aid awarded to the recipients cannot be exchanged for cash.
  16. To become a winner of the free hearing aid:
    1. Winner must medically require hearing aids based on the comprehensive hearing test performed at a Hear Well Be Well location.
    1. Winner must be 19 years of age or older and be a resident of Ontario.
    1. Winner must medically require hearing aids based on the comprehensive hearing assessment completed at a Hear Well Be Well location.
    1. Winner must agree to attend all follow-up appointments to ensure they are adapting to and caring for their hearing aids as prescribed.
  17. All winners must agree to have their photograph taken and sign a release allowing Hear Well Be Well to share their sound & Art story in appropriate marketing and education materials, both digitally and in print.
  18. Hear Well Be Well reserves the right to terminate, suspend or modify this contest, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice or obligation, if, in Hear Well Be Well’s sole discretion, any factor or event arises that could interfere with the proper conduct, administration, security or impartiality of the Contest as outlined in these Rules. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, if the Contest, or any part of it, is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, programming errors or technical failures, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Hear Well Be Well may, in its sole discretion, void any suspect nominations and:
  19. Terminate the Contest, or any portion of it;
  20. Modify or suspend the Contest, or any portion of it, to address the impairment and then resume the Contest, or the relevant portion, in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Rules.
  21. Hear Well Be Well reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process, the operation of the Contest, the Contest website page, violates these Rules, or acts with any intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any person involved in the Contest.
  22. Limitation of Liability By participating in this Contest, entrants and winners agree Hear Well Be Well and its authorized agents have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless against any liability for injuries, losses or damages of any kind (including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages) to persons or property resulting from the Contest, including the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the hearing aids.
  23. Protection of Personal Information Unless otherwise authorized, any personal information provided by the entrants and winners when they participate in the Contest, will be used only for the administration of the Contest however all parties may give their express, opt-in consent to receive electronic messages from Hear Well Be Well. All personal information Hear Well Be Well or its authorized agents collect will be handled in accordance with the Hear Well Be Well privacy policy which may be found at www.hearwellbewell.ca/privacy-policy/
